Founded in 1959, Christ Church Episcopal School (CCES) is an independent college-preparatory school in Greenville, South Carolina, with an enrollment of approximately 1,200 students enrolled in grades primer (kindergarten) through grade twelve. The school is seeking an entrepreneurial professional to provide leadership and management for CCES’s auxiliary programs. The successful candidate will join a welcoming, diverse and equitable community to lead the development and expansion of extra-curricular programs for children.
Position Description
The Director of Auxiliary Programs reports to the Assistant Head for Finance & Operations, with direct support from the Associate Head of School, and creates strategic direction and oversight for auxiliary offerings including:
Marketing and managing all summer programs
Overseeing the operation of the Extended Day program
Collaborating with the Athletics Office to coordinate offerings and field/facility use for students in the Lower and Middle Schools
Identifying, coordinating, and overseeing rental opportunities for school facilities
Managing all aspects of hiring, onboarding, and training of auxiliary programs counselors and teachers
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Provide a vision and strategic direction for the program
Design, implement, and measure long-range and short-range plans
Develop and oversee sustainable revenue-generating programs
Manage summer programs: advertising, registration, accountability for income, etc. for summer camp operations including academic, extra-curricular and off-campus activities, facility and equipment requirements, day-to-day operations; online application and payments
Oversee hiring and direction of activities of summer interns and counselors for Summer Encounters camps
Oversee and evaluate the hiring and training of program employees
Oversee all outside programs that extend the resources of CCES to the larger community; develop and implement marketing strategies and tactics for assigned programs
Market and manage community utilization of school facilities
Supervise operations of the school’s extended day program including after school enrichment programs and extended day services to include after school and early morning care on Monday mornings
Offer Insider’s Club on professional learning days for students of faculty and staff
Communicate (written and verbal) with parents regarding assigned areas of responsibility
Coordinate communication plan for external programs with Chief Marketing Officer
Coordinate a budget with the Business Office to ensure profitability of assigned programs; prepare appropriate summary reports
Assess the impact of each program, both financially and strategically, on the mission, core values, and strategic priorities of CCES and its position in the marketplace
Represent the school to the community and promote the program within the community
Foster a diverse and inclusive program environment
Serve as a role model in all aspects of professionalism
Recommend changes in policies, practices, or procedures for continuous improvement
Implement difficult decisions
Collaborate with the office of Strategic Marketing and Communication (SMAC) to design and distribute the publication of Summer Encounters online brochure and marketing materials
Provide resources, direct assistance, coaching, and training to program employees
Utilize technology and social media as communication tools
Implement school emergency and safety policies and procedures outside of school hours and conduct drills to ensure staff and understanding of emergency procedures
Provide excellent customer service to community members including parents, teachers and children
Perform administrative tasks; collaborate with the Business Office to maintain appropriate records and process paperwork

Must be a self-starter; active listener; detail-oriented; and creative thinker. The qualified candidate should be experienced in problem solving; principles and methods of promoting and selling services; experienced in practical applications of business and management principles; and must demonstrate the ability to direct the work of others. Flexibility in work schedule, as needed. A bachelor’s degree is required and experience in working in independent school education is encouraged. Must be able to meet physical requirements of the position.
