Description:
The Assistant Director of Auxiliary Services will work closely with the Director of Auxiliary Services in support of all Auxiliary Programs, with a specific focus on the school’s summer camp programming. This person will also serve as the seasonal Director of Summer Programs. This leadership opportunity requires someone energetic, personable, collaborative, and flexible. The successful applicant will bring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with children, parents, summer employees, and colleagues throughout the school. A passion for customer service and working with children of various ages is a must. This person must be well-organized and able to prioritize to meet deadlines. They must have the capacity to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, be a team player, demonstrate an ability to take initiative, and work independently and collaboratively. They will be safety-conscious and motivated by an authentic interest in the experience of the children in the programs. They will have responsibility over program growth and development, program management, and revenue enhancement.

Responsibilities:
School Year Responsibilities:
Hiring, training, and supervising all Child Care Program employees, ensuring that staff follow prescribed duties and responsibilities, providing feedback, and corrective action plans where necessary.
Create and distribute marketing materials with support from the Director of Communication and Marketing and the Director of Auxiliary Services.
Evaluate program quality and ensure that staff are planning appealing and meaningful programs and activities.
Prepare and monitor staff schedules, modifying as necessary to maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios.
Perform additional duties as required.
Summer Responsibilities:
Work in support of the Director of Auxiliary Services to develop and administer all summer programming.
Handle database administration through CampBrain.
Support staff hiring.
Distribute, collect, and verify staff paperwork.
Provide customer service support for summer families: reach out to families as necessary, answer basic questions, direct families to correct persons as needed.
Track spending against budget accounts.
Book venues for the Summer Travel Program.
Coordinate transportation.
Handle difficult conversations with parents, campers, and staff.
Create and implement summer camp orientation/training.
Plan and run weekly staff and admin meetings alongside the Director of Summer Programs.
Promote a team concept through a positive approach to supervision, communication, and interactions with others.
Facilitate a camp environment that invites creativity, promotes initiative, and supports staff.
Attend to summer website maintenance.
Perform additional duties as required.
General Responsibilities:
Participate in the development and execution of the marketing plan.
Work closely with the Director of Auxiliary Services to support St. Andrew’s Auxiliary Services strategic initiatives.
Manage database software, billing and receivables, and other records of importance.
Support the formulation of department-related policies and procedures.
Co-manage St. Andrew’s After-school Programs, which includes planning and providing for the safe operations of the program in a manner consistent with the policies and philosophy of the school.
Support the creative development of new programs.
Increase revenue across all auxiliary programs.
Maintain accurate registration records for programs and provide up-to-date information to the Director of Auxiliary Services and Business Office.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
A minimum of four years of relevant experience working with children under the age of 13 in a school or after-school setting is preferred, including at least two years in an administrative supervisory capacity with demonstrated decision-making ability.
Exceptional organizational, group management, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills appropriate for interacting with both children and adults.
Demonstrate flexibility, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift boxes/materials of 40 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to navigate an 80-acre, outdoor campus and buildings.
Ability to sit and interact with children on the floor, playground, and grass.
Ability to identify and quickly respond to emergencies.
