Spartanburg Day School is currently seeking a Director of Auxiliary Services commencing July 1, 2027. The Director is responsible for the leadership, management, and continued growth of Spartanburg Day School’s auxiliary programming, including Extended Day, Camp Griffin and revenue generating facility rentals. Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, this role ensures auxiliary programs are safe, well-organized, mission-aligned, financially responsible, and supportive of the School’s enrollment, retention, reputation, and net revenue goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plan, organize, and execute high-quality auxiliary programs (Extended Day, Camp Griffin, and specialized enrichment) from registration through daily execution.
Develop age-appropriate, engaging offerings that reflect student interests and the mission of Spartanburg Day School.
Coordinate internal and external instructors, vendors, and community partners to diversify and strengthen program offerings.
Create and oversee program calendars, daily schedules, registration timelines, and standard operating procedures.
Recruit, hire, onboard, schedule, supervise, and evaluate auxiliary program staff and camp counselors.
Set clear expectations for professional communication, safety, and operational duties.
Provide ongoing coaching and support to foster strong program quality and a positive student experience.
Serve as the primary point of contact for families participating in Auxiliary Programs, communicating clearly and professionally regarding offerings, schedules, and student needs.
Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing team to promote programs, drive participation, and enhance the School’s presence across the Upstate community.
Manage inquiries, contracts, scheduling, and logistical coordination for internal and external facility rentals, ensuring minimal disruption to core school operations.
Maintain rigorous student supervision, strict attendance tracking, and secure dismissal protocols across all programs.
Partner with the CFO to develop and manage auxiliary budgets, pricing models, operating expenses, and revenue goals.
Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
Proven track record in leading school-based programs, summer camps, childcare centers, recreation, or youth programming required.
Proficient in managing program budgets, generating revenue, and managing facility rentals.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-service mindset when engaging parents and staff.
Ability to multitask, manage tight registration deadlines, and maintain calm, effective problem-solving during program hours.
